Achievements of the Year

  • Outstanding Academic Institution for Inclusive Education: Apeejay School, Park Street, was conferred the award for "Outstanding Academic Institution for Inclusive Education" in 2017 by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Department of Women & Child Development Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal.
  • British Council International School Award 2015-16 Apeejay Schools were reaccredited with British School International School Award for the sixth time.
  • Meeting President of India Students of Apeejay Schools were invited to meet the President of India at RashtrapatiBhawan on Children’s Day 2016.
  • Ananda Bazar Patrika – Peerless Group Dronacharya Award Rita Chatterjee, Principal and Administrator, Apeejay Schools, was conferred the Ananda Bazar Patrika – Peerless Group instituted Dronacharya Award 2016.
  • AISSCE 2016 Somok Roy, a student of Apeejay School, Park Street from Humanities Section was the Regional Topper in AISSCE 2016.
  • Best Pipe Band Award 2016-17 Apeejay School and Ashok Hall Girls’ H.S. School were joint winners of Best Pipe Band Award for 2016-17. In 2015-16, Apeejay School won the Best Commander Award and the Best Contingent Award. In 2014-15, Apeejay School won the best Pipe Band Award 2014-15 for Republic Day and Independence Day.
  • National Education Day 2015 Apeejay School Park Street and Salt Lake were felicitated by the CBSE Board on National Education Day 2015 in recognition of their community outreach projects.
  • Life Skill Summit 2014-15 Children from Apeejay School, Salt Lake won the following prizes in Life Skill Summit 2014-15:
    • Eloquence: The Wellness Elocution(Special Recognition Award won by Balaka Biswas)
    • Utopia: On the Spot Poster Making/ Painting(Award for Meritorious Performance won by Swagatanjali Bauri).
    • Spectacle:- Global School Health Exhibition(Special Jury Award)
  • Contribution to Independence Day parade The Government of West Bengal organized a felicitation ceremony in the honor of various schools of the state to appreciate their contribution at the Independence Day celebrations. The event was chaired by Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee and few other of her Cabinet colleagues. Our School was also invited for the felicitation as our Pipes and drums band had participated in the parade. We had been declared as the Best band contingent and also best band commander.
  • CBSE New Generation Schools The honour has been conferred for incorporating Vocational Education at Secondary level through the teaching of Subjects like Legal Studies and Gender Studies. In the spirit of National Vocational Education Qualification Framework (NVEQF) subjects as IT Application, Business Administration and Mass Media Studies. Certification from such an authority makes the students employable.
  • Global Teacher's Accreditation Programme Our teachers have been successful in securing the prestigious Global Teacher's Accreditation Programme from British Council this year
  • Best Mentor Mrs. Rita Chatterjee - Administrator and Principal of Apeejay Schools was awarded Best Mentor award by CBSE for outstanding contribution in mentoring newly affiliated CBSE Schools.
    She is a resource person for implementation of CCE in Eastern India, she has been the convener and member of the inspecting committee of a number of schools for upgradation and affiliation to CBSE.
    She is a member of the CABE panel and expert on School leadership programme initiated by NEUPA.
    She was also a member of CBSE team on deputation to China for promoting Chinese language in CBSE affiliated schools of India.
  • NFLAT - NCFE National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) is the first initiative of National Strategy for Financial Education (NCFE) in this direction. By conducting a national level test, NCFE motivated school students (of classes VIII to X) to learn the concepts of finance. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the NCFE-NFLAT received an overwhelming response with around 1,00,000 students and 2000 schools registering for the test from all over the country. The test was conducted on the January 12, 2014 and the results were declared on January 23, 2014. Apeejay Schools, Kolkata positioned 19th rank.
  • Award for Vocational Excellence - from the Rotary Club The school has received a prestigious award - Award for Vocational Excellence - from the Rotary Club. This has been awarded to us for the successful introduction and implementation of Vocational Courses in our schools.
  • Felicitation by Rotary Club The Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City felicitated Rita Chatterjee, Principal and Administrator, Apeejay Schools on International Women’s Day 2015.

  • Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search Examination 2014 Aritra Krishna Dey formerly a student of Apeejay School Park Street and presently studying in Scottish Church College has been awarded with Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search Senior scholarship in 2014.
  • Awards-Intach Filmit Student members of the heritage Club made documentary films on the topic 'preserving the heritage and culture of Kolkata' and were awarded prizes in the category-best direction (for 'Soaring High') and best storyline (for 'Batasha'), best narration(for 'Taaler Bora') and best direction & story(for 'The great banyan tree'). The students shared their experiences and knowledge gained in the process of making the movies which they shared with the audience at Sri Sri Academy on 30th January 2014.
  • Kishore Vyagnanik Protsahan Yojana Sagnik Bhattacharya of Class XII B, Apeejay School Park Street has been awarded with the Fellowship from 2015 onwards under the Kishore VyagnanikProtsahanYojana (KVPY). He has also topped in his state in the NGSE 2015. He has qualified for the National Level Examination of Physics (in PhO) and Chemistry (in ChO) Olympiads. We wish him a great success in future

  • Drop Everything and Read Apeejay Schools aim to create the "Reading Appetite", amongst all students by introducing the reading programme to the students with a classroom and whole school activity as an anticipatory set to promote 'Reading for Pleasure'.
    The introduction of the Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) programme is an active encouragement of reading for pleasure which should be a core part of every child’s educational entitlement, whatever their background or attainment, as extensive reading and exposure to a wide range of texts make a huge contribution to student's educational achievement.
  • Gurutsav-CBSE The online writing series for students conducted by CBSE and MHRD on topics announced (30 minutes prior) to the stipulated writing time. This writing series conducted on the 1st of September 2014 was a salutation to the teaching faculty on teacher’s day. Prizes were declared nationally on the 5th of September and Suraj Dasgupta, a student of Class VIII received a cash award for best entry in a vernacular language (Bengali).
  • Deen Dayal Upadhyay Writing Series CBSE is committed to the holistic development of students and strongly feels that students of today must be made aware of the selfless and valiant services of the women and men who have served the nation. This Expression Series was conducted from 19th September 2014 to 22nd September 2014 and again Apeejay School Park Street, Kolkata won accolades ,04 students were awarded by CBSE for their award winning entries on this great man, they are:

  • National Genius Search Examination (NGSE) It is a scientifically devised assessment tool to locate genius among children. It is an innovative approach for accelerated learning, developed after 12 years of rigorous research and adaptability tests. The NGSE leads to the prestigious National Genius Awards.
